Varicose Vein Specialist (Phlebologist) — Full Retraining Provided – Two posts
A subsidiary of Implantly • Liverpool, London & Birmingham • 2 posts of 20 hours per week • Base salary £75,000 for 20 hours with considerable upside

We are recruiting senior UK doctors who are ready for a change to work in a patient-centred specialty where your clinical skill is rewarded, your week is your own, and you build long-term relationships with your team and patients who actively chose you.
You will have hands on training and mentoring to practice as a Varicose Vein Specialist (Phlebologist) in the Liverpool Varicose Veins Clinic as part of our growing national network of award-winning varicose vein clinics. Whether your background is General Practice, Surgery, or Interventional Radiology, our structured retraining programme will get you up to speed on managing venous disease including ultrasound-guided cannulation, endovenous ablation, foam sclerotherapy, and microsclerotherapy — the full spectrum of modern vein treatment.

Our flagship site, The Liverpool Varicose Veins Clinic (www.liverpoolvaricoseveins.co.uk), gives you a sense of the calibre of clinic you will be working in: established reputations, loyal referral bases, and patients who self-fund or use finance packages because NHS access has effectively closed for this condition.
What you'll do
- Assess, diagnose and treat the full range of varicose vein presentations — from truncal incompetence to cosmetic spider veins
- Perform endovenous ablation, foam sclerotherapy, and ultrasound-guided procedures (full training and proctored mentorship provided)
- Lead a clinic team of experienced nurse managers — trained in independent microsclerotherapy and who scrub for you during major-vein ablations. Administrative staff keep the operation running so you can focus on patients
- Contribute clinical leadership as we scale the network nationally
Who we're looking for
- GMC-registered experienced General Practitioners or Consultants with a substantive NHS background — Surgery, Interventional Radiology, or GP
- Excellent manual dexterity and the appetite to master ultrasound-guided technique
- Genuinely warm communicator — patients are awake throughout treatment, so bedside manner matters as much as your hands
- Team player who wants to help shape the culture of a growing group, not just clock a shift

What we offer
- £75,000 base salary for a 20-hour working week with flexible times — commensurate with senior NHS Consultant pay, with clear upside as the network scales
- We envisage that the 20 hours will cover 2 days per week 09.30 – 17.00 with cross cover for 6 weeks holiday. Flexibility between colleagues should be possible.
- Fully funded retraining programme with one-to-one proctoring from established phlebologists
- Predictable hours — no on-call, no nights, no weekends required
- A genuine seat at the table as Implantly opens 10 vein-equipped clinics a year across the UK
