Location: Chester - Hybrid Pay rate £23.46 p/h PAYE Contract 12 months

About Atrium Atrium is seeking a VAT Compliance Analyst to join the Tax COE Europe team. This role will focus on the preparation and management of VAT compliance activities across several European and international markets, ensuring accurate reporting, legislative compliance, and exceptional stakeholder support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual VAT returns across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Prepare related indirect tax filings including EC Sales Lists, Intrastat, SAF-T, domestic listings, and purchase listings.
  • Complete VAT and General Ledger reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Reconcile sales reported in VAT returns with accounting records.
  • Manage VAT payment processes and submission approvals.
  • Provide VAT compliance guidance to business stakeholders and respond to VAT-related queries.
  • Support VAT audits and liaise with tax authorities when required.
  • Monitor VAT legislation changes and assess their impact on compliance processes.
  • Maintain VAT codes and support tax technology initiatives, testing, and process improvements.
  • Contribute to standardisation, automation, risk management, and continuous improvement projects.

Experience required:

  • 2+ years' experience in VAT compliance within a multinational environment.
  • Experience preparing VAT returns in one or more European countries.
  • Exposure to working across 2-3 European jurisdictions is highly desirable.
  • Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse and reconcile large volumes of data.
  • Experience with SAP or Oracle is advantageous.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Able to manage competing priorities while working independently and collaboratively.
