VAT Advisor

Location: Thames Ditton

Keltbray is a leading UK specialist engineering and construction business, delivering complex infrastructure, engineering and construction projects across the built environment. We are seeking a VAT Advisor to join our growing Tax team and support VAT compliance, advisory and reporting activities across the Group. This is an excellent opportunity for a VAT professional looking to develop their career within a large and complex construction environment, working alongside commercial, finance and operational teams across the business.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing and reviewing VAT returns across the Group
  • Supporting VAT compliance and reporting requirements
  • Reviewing contracts, invoices and transactions to determine the correct VAT treatment
  • Assisting with HMRC enquiries and VAT inspections
  • Supporting audits and identifying potential tax risks
  • Providing VAT guidance to finance, commercial and project teams
  • Working with external advisers on complex transactions
  • Contributing to improvements in tax processes, controls and systems

About you

We're interested in speaking with candidates who have:

  • Experience within a VAT-focused role in practice or industry
  • ATT qualification or CTA studies underway
  • Strong knowledge of UK VAT legislation
  • Experience preparing or reviewing VAT returns
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience within construction, engineering or a project-based environment would be advantageous.
