We're partnering with a global, market-leading business to appoint a VAT Manager into its in-house tax function.
This is a chance to step into a trusted adviser role within the business while staying close to the technical detail that underpins strong VAT compliance.
If you're looking to move beyond a purely compliance-focused role without stepping away from the technical work, this offers a strong balance. You'll combine VAT advisory with ownership of key compliance activity, giving you real influence across the business while staying hands-on.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Role Overview
A great opportunity for someone who enjoys being the go-to VAT person. You'll work closely with teams across the business, providing practical, commercial VAT advice and helping them navigate day-to-day issues.
Alongside this, you'll own VAT compliance end to end, manage HMRC queries, stay on top of legislative change, and support improvements across processes and systems as the tax function continues to evolve.

About You
We're less focused on where you've gained your experience and more interested in the value you bring. Whether you've built your career in-house or in practice, you'll have a strong VAT foundation, be comfortable working across international VAT issues, and enjoy partnering with people across a business.
This role will suit someone who enjoys solving problems, building relationships, and balancing commercial advisory work with getting into the technical detail when needed.
