VAT Manager

Milton Keynes | Hybrid Working (3 Days per Week) | Up to £80,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

A leading UK-based organisation is looking to appoint a VAT Manager to join its growing in-house tax team. This is a highly visible role offering a broad mix of VAT advisory work, business partnering and involvement in major transformation projects.

Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business, you will provide practical and commercially focused VAT advice while helping shape the future of the organisation's tax processes and systems. The role offers exposure to a wide range of complex VAT matters and the opportunity to play a key part in a significant SAP transformation programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide VAT advice across a diverse portfolio of UK businesses and activities.
  • Lead on complex VAT advisory projects and support strategic business initiatives.
  • Manage and oversee existing Partial Exemption Special Method (PESM) arrangements, ensuring they remain robust and effective.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders across Finance, Operations and the wider business.
  • Support a major SAP transformation programme, including tax technology enhancements, systems optimisation and process improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve VAT processes, controls and governance frameworks.
  • Assist with VAT risk management and liaise with HMRC where required.

About You

  • Strong VAT advisory experience gained in either industry or professional practice.
  • Excellent technical VAT knowledge with the ability to deliver pragmatic, commercial solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
  • Experience of Financial Services VAT and PESM methodologies would be beneficial, but is by no means essential.
