VITA is a specialist VAT and indirect tax practice. We were founded in 2019, we work across the UK from bases in Glasgow and Aberdeen, and every person in the team brings a unique value that improves the collective team. The firm has grown consistently over its 7 years and we are adding to the team again to keep pace with the work coming in.
The role
Our first preference is a Manager in Glasgow, working alongside the senior technical team on a growing advisory workload. That role would be office-based for three or four days a week with one from home, because at this level the value of sitting beside experienced people is hard to replicate remotely.
We are also open to appointments at Senior Manager or Director level. At those grades we would be just as interested in someone based in the East Coast or in Aberdeen, where a presence outside Glasgow would strengthen our geographic coverage.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Those roles would involve more remote working and more independence from the senior technical team, and we would shape the arrangement around the right person.
The work
This is predominantly advisory, with compliance only forming a small part of what we do. The caseload runs across land and property, construction, cross-border and import VAT, partial exemption, HMRC enquiries and assessments, VAT governance and controls, transactions, and the wide spread of one-off questions that reach a specialist practice.
You will have direct client contact from the start and you will work with the senior team - our workload is technically challenging, very varied and exciting.

What we are looking for
A broad base of VAT experience across a range of sectors is what matters most, and we would rather see genuine breadth than a narrow track record. A specialism on top of that is of real interest to us.
CTA, CA, ACA, ATT or equivalent is welcome, though relevant VAT experience carries more weight with us than the letters.
For the senior appointments we are looking for someone comfortable running their own relationships and their own diary without close supervision.
If you would prefer an informal and confidential conversation before applying, email us and we will arrange one.
