Are you ready to lead and shape the future of global VAT compliance and reporting? Join RSM UK as a Product Manager within our Global VAT Compliance & Reporting (GVCR) team being a key link between the VAT teams, delivery teams, internal Technology teams and relevant third-party providers.

The role will help ensure that the tools supporting the VAT preparation process remain fit for purpose, aligned with current and upcoming requirements, and supported by a clear improvement roadmap agreed with internal stakeholders and third-party providers.

You will make an impact by

  • Owning and managing the third-party tools used in the VAT preparation process, including functionality, configuration, maintenance, updates and ongoing improvement.
  • Working closely with VAT specialists, delivery teams and users to understand how the tools are used in practice and translate operational needs into clear product requirements.
  • Maintaining and regularly updating a product roadmap for all third-party VAT preparation tools, prioritising enhancements based on business needs, client requirements, regulatory developments, operational efficiency and third-party release plans.
  • Managing relationships with third-party providers, including regular catch-ups, tracking open issues, agreeing actions, monitoring delivery and escalating risks where required.
  • Monitoring tool performance and user feedback to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, data quality, controls and the overall VAT return preparation process.
  • Working with VAT technical teams to ensure that the product remains aligned with relevant VAT rules, compliance requirements and business processes.
  • Identifying opportunities to standardise the use of third-party tools and improve the scalability, consistency and control of the VAT preparation process across different clients and entities.

Preferred qualifications & experience

  • Strong understanding of VAT compliance processes and VAT return preparation. EU VAT experience required.
  • Experience managing a product, platform or technology-enabled business process.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into clear product and technical requirements.
  • Experience working with IT, technology and development teams.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive delivery from requirements through to implementation.
  • Commercial and operational mindset, with a focus on efficiency, scalability and continuous improvement.
  • Comfortable working in a technology-enabled and data-driven environment.
  • Experience with VAT technology, tax technology or financial systems would be highly desirable.
