An established and growing accountancy practice is looking to appoint an experienced VAT Manager to join its specialist tax team.
The role offers a broad mix of VAT advisory, compliance and transaction-focused work, working with a varied portfolio of middle-market businesses across a range of sectors.
What you'll be doing
You'll work closely with clients to understand their challenges and provide practical, commercially focused VAT advice.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing a portfolio of corporate clients and acting as a trusted point of contact
- Providing clear and commercially focused VAT advice
- Supporting clients with complex and time-sensitive VAT issues
- Delivering advisory projects from initial scoping through to completion
- Carrying out VAT due diligence and risk-focused reviews
- Researching legislation and applying technical VAT knowledge to client situations
- Working with colleagues across the wider tax and advisory teams
- Building and maintaining strong long-term client relationships
- Supporting the development of junior members of the team

What we're looking for
The ideal candidate will have:
- CTA qualification or equivalent strong technical VAT experience
- Broad VAT experience across a range of sectors
- Previous experience managing a portfolio of clients
- Experience delivering VAT advisory projects
- Exposure to VAT due diligence would be advantageous
- Strong technical research and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex matters clearly
- A commercial and client-focused approach
