Vehicle Damage Assessor
Location: Kings Langley Salary: Competitive + Bonus + Benefits Hours: 45 Hours per Week
Pybus Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor (VDA) to join a busy, modern accident repair centre in Kings Langley.

The Role
As a Vehicle Damage Assessor, you will play a key role in the smooth operation of the bodyshop, producing accurate repair estimates, supporting workshop efficiency, and ensuring repairs are completed to the highest standards. You'll work closely with the Bodyshop Manager, workshop team, customers, insurers, and third parties to deliver an outstanding customer experience while maintaining profitability and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate repair estimates using Audatex and other estimating systems
- Assess damaged vehicles and identify repair requirements
- Determine the most cost-effective repair methods
- Monitor vehicle progress and identify any repair issues
- Support daily production planning and workshop workflow management
- Assist with capacity planning and resource allocation
- Ensure bodyshop KPIs, SLAs and customer satisfaction targets are achieved
- Liaise with customers, insurers, engineers and third parties regarding repair estimates and approvals
- Manage customer queries and complaints through to resolution
- Review work in progress and identify areas affecting productivity
- Ensure all chargeable materials and repair operations are correctly recorded
- Evaluate vehicle market values where required to determine repair viability
- Support warranty claim assessments and provide clear justification for repairs
- Maintain compliance with Health & Safety procedures
- Communicate repair methods and timescales clearly to both customers and workshop teams

Requirements
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor / Estimator within a bodyshop environment
- Strong understanding of vehicle repair methods and damage assessment
- Audatex experience is essential
- Experience using estimating platforms such as Escribe
- Ability to accurately qualify and quantify repair requirements
- Strong negotiation skills when dealing with insurers and third parties
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced repair environment
- Knowledge of Thatcham repair methods and approved repair times
- Understanding of SMART repair processes would be advantageous
