We are seeking a Build and Compliance Officer to join our Transport Services team. - Work closely with regional procurement teams to develop tender specifications and evaluate supplier submissions.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation and specifications for the range of vehicles operated by the Constabulary.
- Develop effective partnerships with vehicle conversion providers, communicating build requirements and monitoring delivery from initial design through to final handover.
- Conduct regular supplier visits to monitor build quality, manage project milestones and ensure agreed delivery schedules are achieved.
- Inspect, quality assure and formally sign off prototype and production vehicle builds to ensure compliance with specifications and operational requirements.
- Create and maintain fleet records, ensuring technical vehicle information is accurately recorded within fleet management systems.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
