Vehicle Condition Team Manager

Salary: Competitive

Overview

Our client, a financial services organisation operating within the automotive sector, is seeking a Vehicle Condition Team Manager to lead a specialist team responsible for assessing more than 60,000 vehicle damage claims across de-fleeted lease vehicles.

This role combines people leadership, technical vehicle expertise, quality governance, operational performance, and continuous improvement. You will ensure damage assessments are accurate, consistent, and evidence-based while balancing customer outcomes with commercial requirements.

You will also act as a key escalation point for complex vehicle condition and damage assessment decisions and help develop the team's performance and technical capability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a specialist vehicle condition and damage assessment team.
  • Oversee the assessment of more than 60,000 vehicle damage claims across de-fleeted used lease vehicles.
  • Ensure assessments are accurate, consistent, evidence-based, and aligned with remarketing standards.
  • Maintain strong quality governance and operational performance across the team.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex vehicle condition and damage assessment decisions.
  • Balance customer outcomes with commercial considerations when overseeing claims and assessment decisions.
  • Drive continuous improvement across processes, quality, and team performance.
  • Apply technical vehicle, leasing, and remarketing expertise to support effective operational decisions.

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of vehicle condition, leasing, and remarketing.
  • Proven experience coaching and leading high-performing teams within a complex operational environment.
  • Strong technical expertise in vehicle damage and condition assessment.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to balance operational, customer, and business requirements.
  • Experience managing quality, performance, and governance within a specialist team.
  • Strong continuous-improvement mindset and confidence handling complex escalations.
