Reports to: Bodyshop Manager
Hours: 45 hours per week
Salary: OTE £53,000 per annum
We’re looking for a Vehicle Damage Assessor to join our team, and play a key role at Activate Accident Repair. Activate Group is a growing UK business approaching 1,000+ team members nationwide. Role overview:
To provide estimates for the cost of repair for damaged vehicles

Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect vehicles and identify accident-related damage to support accurate repair assessment.
- Prepare detailed and cost-effective repair estimates using approved systems and methodologies.
- Assess vehicle repairability by evaluating damage severity and market value.
- Communicate repair requirements clearly with customers, insurers, assessors, and workshop teams.
- Ensure accurate recording of materials, parts, and labour costs for invoicing purposes.
- Monitor repair progress, reviewing open jobs and resolving issues to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Evaluate and support warranty claims in line with company and manufacturer standards.
- Adhere to Health & Safety regulations and promote safe working practices at all times.
- Apply Thatcham-approved repair times and industry best practices when estimating repairs.
- Provide expert advice on vehicle condition, performance, and safety-related concerns.

Skills & Experience:
- ATA qualified (or equivalent)
- Relevant experience as an estimator
- Ability to qualify and quantify repairs required
- Ability to negotiate effectively with third parties
- Great customer service skills
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- Collaborative team member, with strong relationship building skills
- Ability to create an estimate both manually and via company systems
- Up to date technical knowledge and skills including SMART repairs
- People management experience

Activate Group is a fast-growing business approaching 1,000 team members nationwide.
