Job Title: Vehicle Damage Assessor (VDA)

Location: Maidstone

Hours: 45 hours per week

Salary: Circa £45,000 basic + bonus (OTE £55,000)

Are you looking for a role where you can make a real impact, develop your expertise, and work with the latest automotive technology? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Vehicle Damage Assessor to join a skilled team in Maidstone.

As a VDA, you will play a vital role in assessing vehicle damage, producing accurate repair estimates, and ensuring work progresses smoothly through the bodyshop. This is a fast-paced position requiring strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect damaged vehicles and assess the full scope of repair requirements
  • Produce accurate repair estimates using Audatex (certification essential)
  • Liaise with customers, insurers, engineers, and internal teams to agree repair methods and costs
  • Identify safe, compliant, and cost-effective repair solutions
  • Maintain accurate job files, documentation, and system records
  • Support workflow planning by advising on repair times, parts, and potential delays
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Keep up to date with modern vehicle construction, repair techniques, and industry best practices

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Audatex Certification – essential
  • IMI Accreditation (ATA VDA or equivalent) – preferred
  • Strong knowledge of modern vehicle repair methods and materials
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Confident communicator able to explain technical information clearly
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Competent IT skills, including estimating software and bodyshop management systems
