An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Vehicle Damage Assessor to join the busy team at Lloyd Bodyshop, Colne.
Lloyd Colne Bodyshop is an award-winning BMW and MINI Approved Bodyshop, delivering high-quality repairs and excellent customer service.
This is a key role within the Bodyshop, with a strong focus on retail work, customer care and repair conversion. We are looking for someone who is proactive, commercially aware and confident in identifying repair opportunities, not just relying on work sent through by insurance companies.
Salary: Competitive
Hours of work: Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 17:30
Role And Responsibilities
- Complete accurate damage assessments and repair estimates using Audatex.
- Identify and convert retail repair opportunities.
- Proactively support the Bodyshop in generating work, rather than relying solely on insurance referrals.
- Deal confidently with retail customers, explaining repair requirements clearly and professionally.
- Liaise with insurers, engineers and work providers to agree repair methods and authorisations.
- Manage supplements, estimates, job updates and repair documentation.
- Work closely with the Bodyshop Manager, workshop team and parts department to keep jobs progressing.
- Ensure customer updates are handled professionally and within agreed timescales.
- Support a high-quality customer experience from initial enquiry through to vehicle collection.
- Maintain accurate records across Bodyshop systems.
- Help monitor job progression, repair costs and estimate accuracy.
- Support the achievement of Bodyshop targets, including sales, conversion, labour recovery, customer satisfaction and repair quality.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with BMW and MINI approval standards.

Skills and Attributes
For this role, we are looking for an individual who can demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
- Previous experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor within a Bodyshop or accident repair environment.
- Strong Audatex knowledge is essential.
- Very good IT skills and confidence using Bodyshop management systems.
- Strong retail customer focus, with the confidence to identify and convert repair opportunities.
- Commercially aware and proactive in finding work.
- Self-motivated, organised and able to manage workload effectively.
- Good understanding of accident repair methods, estimating and insurer processes.
- Excellent communication skills with customers, insurers, engineers and colleagues.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work well with the workshop team to support job flow and repair quality.
- Positive, professional and customer-focused approach.
- Full UK driving licence.
