Our client is a well-established used car retailer based in Carrville, Durham, offering a wide range of quality used vehicles and an excellent reputation for customer service. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Vehicle Dismantler / Vehicle Stripper to join their busy operation.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong mechanical background who enjoys hands-on work, vehicle stripping, parts identification, and working within a fast-paced automotive environment.
Offering a basic salary of up to £40,000 plus bonus, this role provides excellent earning potential alongside a great work-life balance with Monday to Friday hours and no weekends.

The Role
As a Vehicle Dismantler / Vehicle Stripper, you will be responsible for safely dismantling vehicles, removing parts and components, identifying reusable parts, and supporting the preparation process for vehicles within the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Dismantle vehicles efficiently and safely.
- Remove mechanical, electrical, and body components.
- Identify and catalogue reusable parts.
- Assess vehicle condition and highlight any issues.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and productive work area.
- Work closely with workshop and vehicle preparation teams.
- Meet productivity and quality targets.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Previous experience as a Vehicle Dismantler, Vehicle Stripper, Vehicle Technician, or similar automotive role.
- Good mechanical knowledge across various makes and models.
- Ability to use workshop tools and equipment safely.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Reliable and hard-working attitude.
- Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable
- Experience working within vehicle salvage, recycling, or used car operations.
- Parts identification experience.
- Level 2 or Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification.
