Overview

Expleo is a leading Global Engineering Services Provider with UK presence in 10 locations. We are seeking an EDS Engineer to deliver harness and routing designs for various Engine Platforms both 4 and 6 cylinder and new EV platform. The successful candidate is expected to be conversant with client toolsets as well as current thinking/techniques in Automotive EDS Engineering.

The work is expected to be done in a hybrid fashion with at 3 days a week on-site.

We are looking for energetic and driven engineers with broad expertise, however of particular interest would be candidates with previous experience working on HGV or PCV chassis.

This role represents a great opportunity to work on new vehicle lines. Responsibilities

  • Deliver harness and routing designs for various Engine Platforms both 4 and 6 cylinder and EV platforms
  • Good understanding of EV platforms
  • Collaborate with Project Management and Vehicle Test Team to finalise timelines and coordinate material for all electrical harnessing to ensure on time delivery for each prototype build.
  • Develop electrical design and schematic inputs
  • Route harnesses using 3D tools.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide engineering support throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Support packaging, design and development of LV and high voltage harness systems for BEVs.
  • Evaluate various low voltage distribution concepts for next gen EV vehicles which takes into account DCDC power levels, power distribution and low voltage battery management.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support system integration, design validation and issue resolution.

Qualifications

  • Degree level qualification in Engineering with relevant background
  • A lower qualification would be acceptable for example HNC/HND should the candidate be able to demonstrate significant demonstrable experience in lieu
  • Full UK (or equivalent) driving licence.

Essential skills

  • Design and development of automotive wiring harnesses using Saber.
  • Use of PTC Creo for electrical wire harness design/routing
  • Use of PTC Windchill PLM toolset.
  • Self-sufficient, self-motivated and excellent team-player
  • Flexible, adaptable, proactive, diplomatic attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Command of common Microsoft Office tools, Excel, Outlook, Teams & Word
  • Understanding of wire harness manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and compliance

Desired skills

  • Design and development of wiring harnesses for HGV/PCV applications

Experience

  • Extensive experience in the design and development of automotive wiring harnesses
  • Experience in the use of CREO and Sabre.
