About The Role

E-PPL is a leading provider of engineering, technical, and resource solutions across the automotive, power, and industrial sectors. We are seeking a skilled Vehicle & Equipment Technician specialising in generator repair and ground power support. In this role, you will perform essential preventative maintenance, fault diagnostics, and complex mechanical/electrical repairs on power generation units and heavy equipment to ensure maximum operational reliability for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnostics & Repair: Conduct fault identification, servicing, and full overhauls on diesel engines, auxiliary power units (APUs), and stationary or mobile generator systems
  • Electrical Systems Maintenance: Troubleshoot, test, and repair high- and low-voltage AC/DC electrical systems, control panels, wiring, and power distribution systems
  • Preventative Maintenance: Carry out routine functional checks, scheduled servicing, and load testing on power equipment across client sites
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all completed work strictly adheres to safety regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and technical sign-off criteria

Requirements

  • Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in generator repair, heavy diesel engines, auto-electrics, or commercial equipment maintenance
  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Heavy Plant, or Automotive Maintenance
  • Key Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, proficiency with diagnostic software, and comfort working with both mechanical and electrical control systems
