Role Description

The Vehicle Mechanic – Commercial Vehicles is a full-time, on-site role based in Telford. The role involves performing routine servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of commercial vehicles and heavy equipment, ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting vehicles, identifying faults, carrying out mechanical and electrical repairs, and completing maintenance records accurately. The mechanic will use diagnostic tools, follow manufacturer guidelines, and collaborate with colleagues to prioritize workload and meet customer deadlines. The role may also involve occasional supervisory responsibilities, supporting less experienced technicians and maintaining a well-organized, safe workshop.

  • Strong vehicle maintenance abilities, including routine servicing and inspection of commercial vehicles.
  • Hands-on experience with maintenance & repair of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficient troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex faults efficiently.
  • Experience working with heavy equipment and commercial vehicle systems.
  • Good understanding of health and safety practices and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Full, valid driver’s license; experience with commercial or HGV driving is an advantage.
