Vehicle Prep Technician - Motor Trade

Essentials (You Must Have)

  • Experience within the motor trade
  • A recognised qualification in vehicle maintenance (or equivalent)
  • Pride in delivering high-quality, consistent workmanship
  • Previous mechanical experience working on cars or light commercial vehicles (LCVs)

About The Role

We are looking for a Vehicle Prep Technician to join our Prep Centre team in Crigglestone, Wakefield. You’ll ensure all new and used vehicles are prepared to exceptional standards ahead of display or customer handover. Your work will directly support the quality, safety, and presentation of our vehicle stock while contributing to an outstanding customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) on new vehicles
  • Prepare used vehicles for resale, including basic mechanical checks and repairs
  • Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs
  • Prepare vehicles to retail and handover standards
  • Diagnose faults and identify any additional repair needs
  • Protect customer vehicles and maintain a clean, organised workspace
  • Complete accurate job cards, inspection reports, and service records
  • Follow all Health & Safety guidelines and workshop procedures

About You

  • Experience as a Vehicle Prep Technician in a fast-paced prep centre operation
  • Strong attention to detail with accurate documentation skills
  • Safety-conscious and respectful of customer property
  • Reliable, efficient and a committed team player
  • Professional, positive and customer-focused
  • A full, valid UK driving licence
