Location: Ipswich, Suffolk
Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00, with no Saturday working currently required
Benefits: 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, increasing with service, onsite parking

ISQ Recruitment is recruiting for a Vehicle Preparation Technician to join a well-established automotive business in Ipswich. This is an opportunity for a practical, detail-focused Vehicle Technician or Mechanic to prepare vehicles for sale and customer handover, with a Monday-to-Friday working pattern.
The Role
You will carry out vehicle inspections, servicing, and mechanical repairs, ensuring vehicles are safe, reliable, and ready for their new owners. Working closely with the workshop and sales teams, you will help keep preparation work on schedule while maintaining high standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Inspect vehicles and identify servicing, maintenance, and repair requirements.
- Complete routine servicing and mechanical preparation work.
- Repair or replace worn components, including brakes, tyres, and suspension parts.
- Carry out final checks to ensure vehicles are ready for customer handover.
- Record completed work accurately and report any outstanding issues.
- Maintain a safe and organised working environment.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, or Preparation Technician.
- A relevant qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair, or equivalent practical experience.
- Good mechanical knowledge and confidence carrying out routine repairs.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in your workmanship.
- The ability to organise your workload and work effectively within a team.
- A full UK driving licence.

What's on Offer
- Salary up to £30,000, depending on experience.
- Monday-to-Friday hours, with no Saturdays currently required.
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
- Holiday entitlement increasing to 28 days plus bank holidays after three years' continuous service.
- Onsite parking.
