Vehicle Prepper (Hybrid – Coalville)

Contract: Full Time
Location: Hybrid (Coalville, UK)

Overview

Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Vehicle Prepper to join their cosmetic repair team. This role is essential in ensuring vehicles are accurately repaired and prepared to the organisation’s high reconditioning standards. Working with state-of-the-art equipment, you will prepare panels, repair damage, and complete all necessary work to ensure vehicles are ready for primer and paint. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about automotive quality and craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicle panels to required standards before primer and paint processes.
  • Undertake masking, sheeting, sanding and repair work using approved methods and tools.
  • Apply primer and prepare surfaces in line with established reconditioning procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the cosmetic team leads and wider workshop colleagues.
  • Ensure all work meets quality, safety and compliance standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow operational processes to support efficient workflow.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Ability to legally drive a manual vehicle in the UK.
  • Proven panel preparation experience.
  • Experience in masking and sheeting.
  • Knowledge and experience applying primer.
  • Previous accident repair experience.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with modern paintshop technology, materials and preparation methods.
  • Experience working in a high-volume or fast-paced workshop environment.
