Vehicle Technician

Location: Macclesfield, Cheshire

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 + bonus (depending on experience)

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About our client

They are a busy and growing accident repair centre committed to delivering high-quality vehicle repairs and exceptional customer service. They are currently seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join their professional workshop team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual looking to develop their career within a modern and fast-paced bodyshop environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring vehicles are repaired efficiently and returned to pre-accident condition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of makes and models.
  • Conduct MOT tests in accordance with DVSA regulations.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using manufacturer-approved diagnostic equipment.
  • Perform vehicle inspections and identify additional repair requirements.
  • Ensure all repairs are completed efficiently and to manufacturer standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts required.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Support workshop productivity and efficiency targets.

Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician.
  • Current MOT Tester Licence preferred.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
  • Experience carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Good understanding of modern vehicle systems and technology.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent Motor Vehicle qualification.
  • Manufacturer accreditation or franchise experience.
  • Electric and Hybrid Vehicle qualification.
  • ADAS awareness or calibration experience.
