Vehicle Technician

We're looking for a Vehicle Technician to join the team at our Peterborough depot. You'll be working across a wide range of makes and models, carrying out everything from routine servicing and maintenance through to complex diagnostic repairs.

Basic Salary

  • Up to £45,000

Job Description

As our Vehicle Technician, you'll take ownership of your own area of work and will be trusted to complete the job to a high standard.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Identifying and rectifying in-depth and complex diagnostic faults.
  • Carrying out service, maintenance, and repairs across a range of cars and LGVs.
  • Liaising with the Parts Department to make sure jobs are completed efficiently.
  • Completing job cards, service sheets, clocking, and other relevant documentation accurately and on time.
  • Keeping your workspace clean, tidy, and organized.
  • Maintaining up-to-date product and technical knowledge and attending training where required.
  • Supporting and mentoring apprentices and other members of the wider team when required.

Person Specification

We're looking for someone who knows their way around a vehicle and, more importantly, knows how to find the fault when things aren't straightforward.

Ideally, You'll Have

  • City and Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in a relevant vehicle maintenance/repair discipline, or strong proven experience.
  • Higher-level diagnostic training or previous experience in a similar senior diagnostic role.
  • A full, valid driving licence.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and support less experienced technicians.
