Vehicle Technician Vacancy
We are recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Technician, Automotive Technician, Motor Vehicle Technician, or Car Mechanic to join a long-established independent garage in Croydon. Applicants must have strong hands-on mechanical repair experience, including timing belts, timing chains, clutches, and suspension, hold a Full UK Driving Licence, have their own tools, and have the right to work in the UK. A Level 3 qualification is preferred, although experienced Technicians without formal qualifications will be considered.
Job Details:
- Location: Croydon
- Salary: £40,000 basic, + bonus OTE £45,000+
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:30pm, No Weekends

Vehicle Technician Role
- Diagnose and repair a broad range of mechanical faults
- Carry out timing belt, timing chain, and wet belt replacements
- Complete clutch and suspension repairs
- Undertake general maintenance and more complex mechanical repairs
- Use specialist tooling and follow appropriate repair procedures
- Work independently from your allocated workshop bay
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and communicate effectively with colleagues and customers
Vehicle Technician Requirements
- Strong previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Automotive Technician, Motor Vehicle Technician, or Car Mechanic
- Broad mechanical repair experience rather than a servicing-only background
- Confidence completing timing belts, timing chains, wet belts, clutches, and suspension work
- Ideally 6-8+ years' experience within the motor trade
- Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent is preferred but not essential
- MOT Tester Licence is advantageous but not essential
- Strong communication skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Own tools
- Right to work in the UK
