This is the perfect opportunity for someone who loves getting under a bonnet, figuring out how things work, and has a genuine passion for vehicles.

We don't just offer a job; we offer a 30-month journey to becoming a fully qualified Level 3 technician through our ''Growing Our Own'' philosophy.

Why Choose the Holdcroft Academy?

  • Earn While You Learn: Receive a competitive wage from day one, which can grow as you progress.
  • No College Commute: All training is delivered on-site at our dealerships. You won't have to travel to an external college or worry about traditional term times.
  • Expert Support System: You’ll have a dedicated coach for one-to-one support, plus a ''Buddy'' (usually a Master or Senior Technician) on-site to mentor you daily.
  • The ''Holdcroft Way'': You will learn our unique way of working from day one, setting you up for long-term success in our business.

What You’ll Be Learning

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Your apprenticeship follows a comprehensive 30-module plan. Highlights include:

  • Advanced Diagnostics: Learning to identify faults in complex engine systems and electronic control units (ECU).
  • Mastering Mechanics: Hands-on experience with braking systems, manual and automatic gearboxes, and suspension.
  • Future-Proof Skills: Training in High Voltage Awareness, Air Conditioning (F-gas), and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

Important Dates & Recruitment

We use a modern recruitment process designed to let your skills shine:

  • End of June: Application closing date.
  • Early July: Central Assessment Day. Instead of a scary interview, you'll participate in group tasks to show off your teamwork and communication skills.
  • Mid-September: The official start date for our new intake.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above are essential.
  • Key Skills: We look for candidates who are logical, organised, and have great attention to detail.
  • Driving: Ideally, you’ll have a full driving license, but don’t worry if you aren't there yet! If you’re under 17 or haven’t started yet, we just look for a real desire to get behind the wheel as soon as you’re able.
