Contract
- Full-Time, Permanent
Salary
- OTE (on-target earnings) up to £41,320 (uncapped)
- Basic salary between £28,000 to £34,000, plus:
- £3,000 Productivity Bonus
- Time Saved Bonus Scheme
Working Hours
- Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours)
- 1 in 3 Saturdays: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
About the Role
Lookers Skoda Cupra is recruiting a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join their workshop team. As part of a skilled group of technicians, you’ll carry out essential tasks including vehicle health checks, servicing, and repairs.
You will report to the Aftersales Manager for support, and the role offers executive career progression and training, including manufacturer-accredited schemes and Hybrid & Electric Vehicle training.
Our Vehicle Technicians / Mechanics play a critical role in delivering first-class customer service through efficient diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance—keeping vehicles in top condition.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out pre-delivery inspections on new and used vehicles
- Conducting checks in line with manufacturer guidelines
- Fitting additional customer-requested accessories
- Performing vehicle health checks and reporting further works where required
- Inspecting lighting, tyre pressure, mechanical, and electrical systems
- Completing minor repairs on new and used vehicles
- Applying basic diagnoses in mechanical and electrical workshops
- Undertaking vehicle servicing according to manufacturer guidelines and customer requests
- Carrying out additional repairs (once customer-authorised)
- Ensuring warranty repairs follow manufacturer guidelines with proper documentation
- Conducting road tests to confirm complete resolutions of faults
- Maintaining high-quality paperwork standards

Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
- Full and valid UK driving licence
- Motor industry experience (brand or non-brand preferred, but not essential)
- Desirable (not mandatory):
- Brand-specific experience
- Diagnostics, MOT, and EV (Electric Vehicle) experience
