About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded professional to join a growing technology business as a Vendor Portfolio Executive. This role is responsible for defining, managing, and communicating the direction of assigned product portfolios, ensuring clear alignment across sales, marketing, procurement, and wider business functions.
Acting as the internal expert on product portfolio strategy, the successful candidate will provide valuable insight into product lifecycles, market positioning, vendor roadmaps, and commercial opportunities. The role plays a key part in supporting profitable growth by ensuring teams have a clear understanding of priority products and strategic focus areas.
Portfolio Management
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of assigned product portfolios.
- Manage product lifecycle activity, including new product introductions and end-of-life transitions.
- Define portfolio positioning and identify commercial opportunities across different markets and customer segments.

Vendor & Partner Engagement
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee vendor engagement days, partner events, product showcases, and internal enablement sessions to drive awareness and increase commercial opportunities.
- Act as the primary point of contact for organising vendor participation, ensuring objectives, agendas, and expected outcomes are clearly defined and delivered.
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and vendor representatives to maximise attendance, engagement, and pipeline generation from vendor-led activities.
- Track outcomes and feedback from vendor days, providing recommendations to improve future events and support portfolio growth strategies.
Product Intelligence & Market Insights
- Analyse product roadmaps and market developments to provide actionable business insight.
- Serve as the internal source of expertise on portfolio structure, strategy, and product direction.
- Support strategic planning activities through detailed portfolio analysis and recommendations.

Sales & Commercial Support
- Equip sales teams with clear product positioning, differentiation, and competitive insights.
- Support business development activities through portfolio and product expertise.
- Identify portfolio gaps, opportunities, and areas for improvement to maximise sales performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with sales, procurement, marketing and finance, to ensure portfolio alignment.
- Contribute to product launch initiatives, campaign planning, and business growth activities.
- Provide guidance on product transitions and portfolio priorities.
About You
- Experience as a vendor or alliances manager within an IT Reseller
- Strong understanding of product lifecycles and go-to-market strategies.
- The ability to translate technical or product information into commercial recommendations.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
