Job Description
๐ ๏ธ Ventilation Engineer โ Technical Specialist Support
Provide expert engineering support and investigative expertise for Sellafieldโs Ventilation Technical Specialist Group ๐ฌ๏ธโ๏ธ. Maintain high standards of safety, performance, reliability, and documentation across critical ventilation systems โ while staying calm, decisive, and effective under pressure.
Key Responsibilities ๐
- ๐ Deliver technical support for new & existing ventilation systems
- ๐ญ Carry out ventilation asset condition & system health inspections
- ๐งช Support ventilation & HEPA filter commissioning across site
- โ Ensure systems are compliant, fit for purpose & meet current standards
- ๐ค Collaborate with Plant & Reliability Engineers to optimise assets
- ๐ Follow company standards, safety rules & procedures
- ๐ท Provide a professional, customer-focused service
- ๐ Maintain safety through ongoing training & compliance

Qualifications
Knowledge & Experience ๐ง
- ๐ Engineering or maintenance qualification (or equivalent experience)
- ๐๏ธ Experience working at height & in confined spaces
- ๐ SC Security Clearance (or ability to obtain)
- ๐ Chartered/Incorporated Engineer status โ or working towards it
- ๐ฅ Experience coaching & developing others
Essential Skills โ๏ธ
- ๐ฌ๏ธ Strong background in mechanical/ventilation engineering
- ๐ Experience providing technical support & investigative expertise for industrial or nuclear ventilation systems
- ๐งโ๐ซ Subject Matter Expert (SME) experience for internal & external stakeholders
- ๐ญ Skilled in inspections, system performance checks & improving equipment reliability
- ๐ป Confident producing reports & using standard IT/software packages
Desirable Skills โญ
- ๐ Ventilation flow measurement & test equipment experience
- ๐งช Ventilation commissioning & proportional balancing knowledge
- ๐๏ธ Safe working experience at height & in confined spaces
- ๐ซ๏ธ LEV Testing & Reporting (P601)
- ๐ฆบ CSA Training (Level A, B or C)
