About the Role
Pico is seeking to hire a new team member to join our venue services team. This critical function sits at the intersection of commercial and technical responsibilities, supporting 100s of exchanges & trading venues. The role will involve:
- Network and automation responsibilities
- Ownership of technical requirements for exchanges and trading venues on PicoNet (Pico’s global network)
- Mass data management – accurate translation and validation of millions of data points for network engineering teams
This role requires excellent automation skills and in-depth network-related knowledge to ensure accuracy and reliability in financial infrastructure.

- Technical relationship management: Understand how global exchanges & trading venues operate at a network level, ensuring alignment between Pico’s services and client requirements.
- Data translation: Convert network connectivity information from exchanges into Picco’s internal standard format to drive network automation.
- Collaboration with commercial & licensing teams: Ensure network configurations and ACLs (Access Control Lists) align with client data entitlements.
- Change management: Assess the impact of exchange/trading venue changes on Pico’s services and clients, documenting technical change requirements for deployment teams to stay ahead of upgrades.
- Automation advocacy: Work closely with the network automation team to minimize manual processes and enforce best practices for maintaining data integrity.
- Data optimization: Drive improvements in automation, particularly in data collection and validation, to enhance accuracy and data quality.
Education, Skills & Background
Requirements
- Degree-level education with 2+ years of experience in a network-related profession, ideally within capital markets.
- Technical proficiency:
- Python & Bash scripting (automation & data handling)
- Advanced Excel (data analysis and manipulation)
- Soft skills:
- Strong communicator (written & verbal)
- Multi-tasker capable of managing cross-departmental priorities simultaneously
- Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and integrity

Working Arrangements
Post-Covid, Pico is exploring flexible working models, combining hybrid in-office/remote arrangements where feasible. This role may require occasional travel, though frequent or regular international trips are not expected. Given Pico’s global operations, some out-of-hours conference calls (primarily with overseas offices) may occur, but these will be kept to a minimum.
