Roles Overview

As a Verification and Validation (V&V) Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in our Systems Engineering team, focusing on the integration of hardware and software to validate and verify AB Dynamics' automotive test equipment. This includes both track testing solutions (such as driving robots and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) target products) and laboratory-based testing equipment (SPMM, ANVH, SSTM).

You will be responsible for leading a small team of Verification and Validation engineers, defining and executing validation tests, developing automated test environments, and supporting system design. Additionally, you will manage requirements validation through ELM tools, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality in our products.

Core Responsibilities

  • Development of the team, setting clear goals and objectives, monitoring performance and providing feedback and ensuring both personal and professional development of all team members.
  • Line management of the Verification & Validation team.
  • Help develop and execute comprehensive testing plans, including functional, performance, and safety testing, to validate system behaviours under various conditions.
  • Develop automated test environments to enhance the validation process.
  • Collaborate with the Systems Engineering team to support system design.
  • Manage documentation of requirements validation using ELM tools.
  • Conduct hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, simulation environments, and real platform testing at the test track.
  • Utilize a range of software tools, including Jama, Enterprise Architect, Jira, Team City, Vector Cast, and LabVIEW.
  • Foster effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and promote a multi-disciplinary understanding of our products.
  • Maintain clear communication and meticulous attention to detail throughout the validation process.
  • Collaborate with Test and Calibration to ensure any new product production Calibration methods, are correct and suitable. Supporting the development of non-standard methods as required.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience of managing people, either directly or indirectly.
  • A technical background, most likely an Engineering Degree or similar.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Jama, Enterprise Architect, Jira, Team City, Vector Cast, and LabVIEW are desired.
  • Experience with hardware and software validation, particularly in an automotive context.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills.
  • A valid UK driving licence is essential.
  • Willingness to travel.
