Salary Range: $137,553 - $152,836 (pending experience) + 12.75% superannuation paid as per the Catholic Education Executive Salary Scale

Your Role
Applications are invited for the full-time continuing position of VET Development and RTO Manager, based in Rockhampton, commencing January 2027.
The successful applicant will lead and manage the operation of the Catholic Education Diocese of Rockhampton Registered Training Organisation (RTO), fostering a culture of excellence and innovation in Vocational Education and Training (VET) across CEDR. Providing strategic leadership, they will ensure the delivery of high-quality vocational education and training programs that align with the CEDR vision and create meaningful opportunities for students across CEDR colleges.
Working in partnership with school leaders, industry stakeholders, tertiary institutions, and the CEDR Marketing and Communications team, the successful applicant will strengthen career and training pathways, enhance industry engagement, and expand opportunities that prepare students for success beyond school. They will also drive the strategic development of the VET portfolio through planning, performance monitoring, and innovation, ensuring programs remain responsive to student needs, workforce trends and industry expectations.
Through collaboration with VET Coordinators, trainers, assessors, and school leadership teams, the successful applicant will build capability, mentor staff and promote a culture of excellence in training, assessment, compliance and continuous improvement across all delivery sites. This role presents a rewarding opportunity to shape the future of vocational education within CEDR by balancing strong regulatory oversight with a commitment to student success, quality outcomes, and the development of sustainable partnerships that enhance learning, employment, and post-school pathways.

Typical Duties Include, But Are Not Limited
- Develop a strong vocational education and training portfolio that provides students across our eight colleges with access to a range of industry-recognised, quality VET programs that offer exciting and fulfilling pathways
- Systematically monitor and manage the RTO's operations to ensure compliance with legislation and regulatory requirements including management of accredited courses, training of staff, changes to scope of registration, third-party arrangements, and funding/licensing obligations
- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of training and assessment practices, ensuring they are aligned to national standards and meet the needs of students and industry partners
- Develop, implement and oversee the internal audit schedule and internal monitoring processes to ensure compliance and quality in validation and moderation of assessment, monitoring of trainer and assessor currency, and continuous improvement systems
- Lead, mentor and develop school-based staff engaged in VET delivery

Mandatory Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and current Queensland College of Teachers Registration
- Current Driver's Licence
- Ability to travel within the Catholic Diocese of Rockhampton
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
- Australian work rights
- A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Diploma of VET, or Diploma of Training, Design and Development would be advantageous
