About The Role
Are you a passionate and experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking for an exciting opportunity in South East London?
Look no further! Here at West Wickham Vets, we are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join our incredible team.
We pride ourselves on providing the very best veterinary care while creating a warm, supportive and welcoming environment for our teams, our patients and their owners.
As a Veterinary Surgeon at West Wickham Vets, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality clinical care while building lasting relationships with our clients and their pets. You will be supported by a fantastic team of experienced veterinary professionals who are committed to working together to achieve the best possible outcomes for every patient.
Your Role At West Wickham Vets Could Include
- Providing high-quality clinical and surgical care to our patients
- Conducting consultations, diagnostics and treatment plans
- Carrying out routine and more complex surgical procedures, depending on experience
- Working closely with our Registered Veterinary Nurses and wider clinical team
- Building strong relationships with clients and providing clear, compassionate advice
- Managing medical and surgical cases from initial consultation through to follow-up
- Ensuring accurate clinical records and maintaining high standards of patient care
- Working collaboratively with the team to ensure the smooth running of the practice
- Participating in our shared weekend rota
- Helping to create the warm, friendly and supportive atmosphere that makes West Wickham Vets special

About You
- Previous experience working in a small animal practice
- A confident and compassionate approach to clinical decision-making
- Good surgical and medical skills, with the opportunity to develop these further
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit team
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy caseload
- A genuine passion for animal welfare and delivering outstanding patient and client care
- A commitment to continued professional development

About Us
DNA Vetcare is a proudly independent group of multi award-winning surgeries, founded in 2006 by veterinary surgeons Alan van Heerden and Dane Walker. Dane and Alan have taken their years of experience working in numerous high quality practices, to provide exceptional vet care across London and Kent. Claire Baker joined Alan and Dane as a Director in 2019, originally arriving at the main London hospital in 2013 as a locum. Claire heads up the Group’s operations and vet team recruitment.
