Veterinary Administrator

At Animal Trust, we believe pets should come before profit. As a Community Interest Company, we’re committed to making veterinary care accessible while delivering high-quality care to the animals who need us.

We’re looking for an organised, detail-focused Veterinary Administrator to support our hospitals across three key areas at our Barnsley Hospital:

  • Debt and Insurance
  • Referral and Inpatient Management
  • Health plan

You’ll manage an assigned workload across all three areas, maintaining clear notes, agreed next steps, and follow-up dates. Priorities will be set through our Central Operations team, and you’ll work closely with your hospital colleagues to ensure inpatient charging and discharge processes remain accurate and up to date.

You’ll follow approved procedures, communicate clearly, and raise clinical questions, overdue actions, or capacity concerns promptly. You’ll also learn all three areas so you can support agreed cover across the group when needed.

This is a varied administrative role where you’ll work closely with our hospital teams and central operations colleagues to keep records accurate, resolve queries, support clients, and ensure important tasks are followed through.

If you enjoy keeping things organised, solving problems, and making a difference behind the scenes, this could be the role for you.

What you’ll be doing

Debt and Insurance

  • Manage assigned customer and insurance balances across the group, keeping accurate records and following up outstanding actions.
  • Communicate professionally and sensitively with clients about overdue payments and insurance shortfalls.
  • Liaise with insurance providers to resolve routine claims, invoice, and payment queries.
  • Allocate insurance payments, investigate unapplied cash, and support financial reconciliation.
  • Maintain accurate records in our practice management system, ensuring balances and queries are directed through the correct processes.
  • Administer authorised payment plans and prepare referrals for debt collection where required, escalating disputes and financial exceptions appropriately.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
