We are looking for a part-time Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) to join our friendly and supportive team in a busy veterinary practice.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be:

  • Caring, compassionate and genuinely passionate about animals
  • Dynamic, well-organized, hard-working and willing to get stuck in
  • Able to remain calm under pressure and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Confident in verbal and written communication and able to deal with clients in a professional and empathetic manner
  • Confident in using computers and answering telephones
  • A good team player with a positive attitude and able to work independently and manage your own workload

What you will be doing:

  • Providing hands-on care and support for patients
  • Supporting with caring, compassionate patient handling and restraint
  • Assisting and supporting the nurses and vets and wider practice team
  • Ensuring a hygienic environment through infection control measures and regular cleaning protocols
  • Maintaining theatres and prep areas through surgical kit cleaning, sterilization, and preparing equipment and surgical packs
  • Assisting reception by telephone answering and face-to-face client interactions

  • Part-time hours over different shifts between the hours of 8am and 8pm Monday to Friday
  • 1 in 4 Saturdays 9am until 3pm
