At Medivet Littlehampton, we're looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Veterinary Care Assistant to join our growing practice on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

About the Practice
Medivet Littlehampton is a well-established small animal practice with a loyal client base and a friendly, collaborative team. You'll work alongside experienced Veterinary Surgeons, a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse, and a Student Veterinary Nurse, gaining exposure to a varied medical and surgical caseload.
We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional patient care whilst creating a welcoming environment for both our clients and our team. No two days are the same, making this a fantastic role for someone who enjoys variety and being hands-on.
The Role
As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you'll play an essential role in the smooth running of the practice and the care of our patients. Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing exceptional care and support to our patients throughout their stay.
- Assisting the veterinary surgeons and nursing team with day-to-day clinical activities.
- Preparing patients for procedures and supporting post-operative care.
- Monitoring hospitalised patients under the guidance of the clinical team.
- Walking, feeding, cleaning, and providing enrichment for inpatients.
- Preparing, cleaning, and maintaining clinical equipment and consulting rooms.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection control throughout the practice.
- Dispensing medications under veterinary direction.
- Supporting client care and ensuring every client receives a warm, professional welcome.
- Helping ensure the practice meets all clinical, operational, and regulatory standards.
About You

Previous experience working with animals or within a veterinary practice would be advantageous but isn't essential—we value enthusiasm, compassion, and a positive attitude just as highly.

About you
You’re skilled at providing exceptional client care and are passionate about caring for pets. You’re a team player who wants to make a real difference in a practice that values and supports you.
We welcome applications from candidates able to prioritise, remain calm under pressure, and who are flexible and willing to learn.
This role is not suitable for young workers in line with Health and Safety Executive (government) direction due to the expected duties of the role. Therefore, you will be asked to confirm that you are over the age of 18 as part of the application process.
What you’ll be doing
Typically, in this role, you’ll:
- Deliver exceptional care to clients, supporting surgeries and procedures, complying with all regulatory, practice, and operational standards
- Deliver patient monitoring and care to pets, including walking, toileting, and feeding
- Work collaboratively within a supportive team
