About Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists

Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists is a specialist-led, referral-only hospital located in the heart of the New Forest, offering advanced veterinary care across a wide range of disciplines. Our multidisciplinary team includes specialists in Anaesthesia, Cardiology, Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Soft Tissue and Orthopaedic Surgery, Ophthalmology, and Diagnostic Imaging. We also provide comprehensive rehabilitation services, including physiotherapy and hydrotherapy using an underwater treadmill, ensuring exceptional patient care from diagnosis through recovery.

Our Surgery Intern Program

Our surgery intern program is aimed at motivated veterinary surgeons, who will play a key role in the management, monitoring, and treatment of our patients. Our intern will rotate between Soft Tissue, Orthopaedic Surgery and the out-of-hours service, over a twelve-month period. A surgery internship is the first step towards specialist training. For others, the skills and knowledge they have acquired during the internship can be brought to a general practice setting.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
