Head Registered Veterinary Nurse – Essex

Full-time | Average 40 hours per week | £35,000 per annum, negotiable

A well-established small-animal veterinary practice in Essex is seeking an experienced and motivated Head RVN to lead and support its friendly nursing team.

The practice’s identity and precise location will be shared with suitable candidates during the recruitment process.

The role

You will lead and support a nursing team comprising three RVNs and two SVNs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing day-to-day leadership and support
  • Coordinating workloads and maintaining an efficient clinical environment
  • Supporting the development and progression of RVNs and SVNs
  • Promoting consistently high standards of patient and client care
  • Working collaboratively with the wider clinical and practice teams
  • Contributing to the development of nursing protocols and standards
  • Providing clinical coaching, if suitably qualified

Working Hours

  • Five weekday shifts per week
  • Weekday shifts are 7.5 working hours
  • A mixture of early and late shifts
  • One weekend in four
  • One day off in lieu following each worked weekend
  • Bank holidays shared fairly across the team, with approximately two required per year
  • This is a full-time position averaging 40 hours per week.

  • A qualified RVN registered with the RCVS
  • A confident and supportive team leader
  • Organised, approachable and an effective communicator
  • Committed to excellent clinical standards and patient care
  • Comfortable supporting colleagues at different stages of their careers

Previous leadership or senior nursing experience is desirable.

Salary

The salary is £35,000 per annum, with flexibility to negotiate for the right candidate.
