About the Role
We have a rare opportunity for an Orthopaedic Referral Surgeon to join the dedicated specialist-led team at frank. Pet Surgeons on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced surgeon looking to become part of a collaborative and progressive referral environment with access to a highly varied and complex caseload.
At frank. Pet Surgeons, we manage a diverse range of orthopaedic and surgical referral cases including complex fractures, total hip replacements, angular limb deformities, advanced spinal surgery, and soft tissue procedures. You will work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team, with excellent opportunities to further enhance your surgical and anaesthesia skills under the guidance of highly experienced clinicians.

The Role
This is a full-time position working 40 hours across 4 days, alongside participation in a 1 in 3 on-call rota.
Our purpose-built hospital is located in Leeds and is fully equipped with advanced facilities including:
- Two fully equipped operating theatres
- CT
- Digital radiography
- Arthroscopy
- Ultrasound
- Multiparameter monitoring equipment
- Separate dog and cat wards
- In-house laboratory facilities
You’ll be joining a highly experienced and supportive team including Diplomates, Residents, Surgical Interns, RVNs, ACAs, and dedicated support staff, all working within a collaborative and patient-focused culture.

frank. Pet Surgeons is based in Leeds, conveniently located close to major motorway networks and just a short distance from Leeds train station. The area offers excellent transport links across the UK, while also providing easy access to the Yorkshire Dales and surrounding countryside, creating an excellent balance between city living and outdoor lifestyle opportunities.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Referral Veterinary Surgeon, you will:
- Manage a varied and complex orthopaedic referral caseload
- Perform advanced orthopaedic and spinal procedures
- Deliver exceptional standards of patient and client care
- Work collaboratively within a specialist multidisciplinary environment
- Support colleagues through mentoring, collaboration, and knowledge sharing
- Contribute positively to the continued development of the surgical service and clinical standards within the hospital
You Might Be a Great Fit If…
We’re Looking For An Experienced Veterinary Surgeon With Strong Clinical Expertise And a Passion For Delivering Advanced Referral-level Care. You’ll Bring
- A Veterinary degree with RCVS registration
- RCVS, American, or European Boarded Diplomate status, residency-trained status, or Cert AVP qualification with prior referral hospital experience
- Significant orthopaedic surgical experience within a referral environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A collaborative and supportive approach to patient care
- A commitment to evidence-based medicine, clinical governance, and continuous professional development
