Veterinary Surgeon

20-30 hours per week.

Locally owned by Javier Bernal MRCVS, Hemel Hempstead Vets for Pets continues to grow and we now have an exciting opportunity in our established small animal practice for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our great team!

About Us

You will be joining a happy and friendly team of 11 clinical and non-clinical colleagues who genuinely enjoy working together with a very low colleague turnover rate. We look forward to welcoming a new vet into our practice. Hopefully you'll love it here so much you'll stick with us to! We share the same ethos of offering the best possible care and help drive the practice forward, building a great reputation within our local community and further afield.

You'll work alongside a team of 3 vets including a certificate holder in orthopaedics. We deal with a wide variety of cases each day, and love to work cases to a high standard. The practice itself has all the equipment you’d expect from a growing GP practice and provides a spacious working environment including 3 consult rooms and a separate kitchen/office space for the team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
