Veterinary Surgeon - be part of something new!

Location: Durham

Salary: £55,000 to £65,000

Are you a confident and experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking for an exciting new role? A brand-new independent veterinary practice in County Durham is seeking a dedicated professional to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent chance to be part of a growing practice with a busy and interesting caseload, where your skills and expertise will be highly valued.

The practice boasts a supportive and experienced team, including a Head Nurse, a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN), two Veterinary Care Assistants (VCAs), and five clinical support staff. The role offers a balanced work-life schedule, with a 40-hour week spread across four days. The first consultation starts at 9 am, and the practice closes at 6 pm. Additionally, there is a requirement to work one Saturday a month from 9 am to 1 pm, with time given back in lieu. Flexible working arrangements can also be discussed to suit your needs.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Perform consultations and surgeries with confidence and competence.
  • Manage a busy and varied caseload independently.
  • Provide high-quality veterinary care and build strong relationships with clients and their pets.
  • Collaborate effectively with the veterinary team to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.

Skills and experience:

  • Qualified Veterinary Surgeon with relevant certifications.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with the ability to handle sole charge responsibilities.
  • Strong clinical skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development (CPD).
