Looking for a busy, well-equipped practice where you’ll have variety, a supportive team around you and plenty of opportunity to develop your clinical interests?
We’re looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and inclusive team in Derby, working a 4-day week with no OOH.
About The Practice
You’ll be joining an experienced and proactive team of 4 Vets, 6 RVNs, 1 VCA and 5 CCAs, all working together to provide a high standard of care to our small animal patients.
Our clinical team benefits from a wealth of experience. Our Joint Venture Partner has 30 years of clinical experience, including more than 20 years within Emergency and Critical Care, alongside a postgraduate certificate in Small Animal ECC.
Our nursing team is equally experienced, led by a Head Nurse with 20 years in the profession, including 11 years within the practice and 9 years in Emergency and Critical Care.
Behind the scenes, our longstanding Client Care team knows the practice inside out and helps make sure each day runs as smoothly as possible.
Develop your clinical interests
This is a busy practice with a varied small animal caseload, making it a great environment for a Vet who enjoys variety and wants to continue developing clinically.

We’ve recently introduced peripatetic orthopaedics alongside improvements to our surgical environment, with the longer-term ambition of carrying out more orthopaedic work in-house.
We’re also keen to develop our cardiology and diagnostic imaging capabilities, as well as expanding our laboratory equipment to include point-of-care electrolyte and blood gas analysers.

Based at the Meteor Centre Retail Park, the practice is just 2 miles from Derby city centre and benefits from free parking directly outside.
Derby offers a great mix of city living and easy access to the countryside, including the Peak District. The city also boasts excellent sporting and leisure facilities, including its football stadium, velodrome and Olympic-sized swimming pool and water park.
The package
Alongside a salary of £38,000 to £50,000, depending on experience and additional qualifications, you’ll benefit from:
