An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join an amazing new independent practice in County Durham, which opened its doors this year, and is already expanding rapidly.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a vet who wants to become part of something genuinely exciting from the very beginning. The practice has ambitious plans for the future and is building a friendly, supportive team with a strong focus on providing excellent patient care while creating a really positive working environment for its people.
The Role
The successful Veterinary Surgeon will work 40 hours per week over four days, giving them a fantastic four-day working week and an excellent work-life balance.
And the best part? There are no weekends, no out-of-hours and all bank holidays are off!
The package includes:
- £40,000–£60,000 per annum, depending on experience
- 40 hours per week over 4 days
- No weekend work
- No out-of-hours
- All bank holidays off
- 5 weeks' annual leave
- Unlimited CPD allowance
- Visa sponsorship considered for the right candidate
The practice is looking for a vet who is passionate about small animal medicine, enjoys building relationships with clients and wants to work somewhere that genuinely values both its patients and its people.

The practice is ideally positioned for those who enjoy the benefits of a quieter lifestyle while still wanting excellent access to larger towns and cities. Durham City, with its stunning cathedral, riverside walks and historic centre, is close by, while Newcastle is also easily accessible.
For those who love the outdoors, County Durham has plenty to offer. The county stretches from the Durham Dales and its walking and cycling routes to the Durham Coast, with dramatic clifftop scenery, beaches and coastal walks.

- RCVS registered and eligible to work in the UK
- Confident working in small animal first opinion practice
- Passionate about delivering high-quality patient care
- A strong communicator who enjoys building relationships with clients
