About the Role
If you are looking for an exciting new role and the opportunity to grow your career, then we have the perfect role for you here at Hinckley Vets4Pets!
About you and the role
This is an experienced veterinary surgeon role who will ideally be confident with all routine surgical and medical cases and enjoy variety within your role. An interest in orthopaedics would be advantageous, but not essential. You should be keen to take on a supportive role and demonstrate key skills including building strong relationships with clients, patients, and the wider team.
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, on a rota basis and there are no OOHs.
About us
You will be working alongside Partners Nicola Gray and Ignacio Martinez Robles and a friendly team of 5 Vets, 7 Nurses, student nurses, and 2 Animal Care Assistants.
We are based inside a busy Pets at Home store in the centre of town, offering free onsite parking, a train station within a couple of minutes' walk, easy access to the M1, and just 40 minutes from both East Midlands Airport and Birmingham Airport.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
