Senior Veterinary Surgeon – First-Opinion Practice | Up to £70,000 FTE
About the Role
Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon seeking a new opportunity within a supportive, team-focused practice?

The Team & Work Environment
You’ll join a close-knit team comprising:
- 2 Senior Veterinary Surgeons
- 4 Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs)
- 3 Receptionists Each members brings creativity, passion and a genuine enjoyment in working together - and there's always chocolate in the staff room!

Key Responsibilities
As a Veterinary Surgeon at Ely Vets for Pets, you will:
- Deliver first-opinion care, including routine consultations, surgery, and specialised treatments.
- Handle occasional emergencies and more complex cases with confidence.
- Work collaboratively with the highly capable nursing team and support staff to provide seamless patient care.
- Ensure high standards of pet and client satisfaction in every interaction.
- Support team culture, sharing expertise, and providing mentorship where possible.
- Optional work pattern: 1 in 4 Saturdays required; no out-of-hours emergencies nor overnight duties.

Requirements & Attributes
We are seeking a Vet who thrives in a collaborative environment and meets the following criteria:
- Confidence in working independently in a first-opinion practice, including occasional sole charge.
- Strong collaborative skills, able to build effective working relationships with both colleagues and clients.
- Passion for delivering exceptional veterinary care in a client-focused environment.
- Experience with routine pets (cats and dogs), with exposure to occasional exotic species encouraged.
- Flexibility to consider alternative working patterns to balance personal commitments.

Our well-equipped, purpose-built practice in Ely, Cambridgeshire, includes:
- Digital and dental X-ray machinery
- New ultrasound machine
- Laser therapy
- Rhinoscope
The practice is a two-minute walk from Ely city centre, home to:
- Historic Ely Cathedral

- SalAry: Up to £70,000 FTE, depending on experience
