Veterinary Surgeon – Dentistry (PGCert, GPCert or AVP)

London-based; Full-time; No Visa Sponsorship available

Salary: £80,000+ depending on experience
Track-Record: > £500,000 revenue per annum; Experience: 4+ years

Your Clinical Skills

You should be great at first opinion consults, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery.
You must have a certificate in veterinary dentistry and have a special interest in restorative and regenerative dentistry as well as feline dentistry. You should be able to manage a high-volume dental workflow across our London clinics.

Responsible for

  • Commercial performance of their clinic
  • Client care to at least meet, if not exceed, our defined standards
  • Supporting innovative initiatives that improve standard of care
  • Pastoral care of their team
  • Responsibility for everything within the four walls of the clinic
  • Supporting client acquisition and marketing

Virtue Vets is London’s premier next-gen vet care and pet wellness clinic chain, providing exceptional vet care and a premium bespoke experience at reasonable prices. We are looking for an ambitious and entrepreneurial Vet to join one of their clinics. Our team has posted 8.2 out of 10.0 satisfaction ratings and our eNPS is 50 when the industry benchmark is minus 50. This role should be viewed as an opportunity to step outside your comfort zone and try something new and exciting.

Our Clinics

Our stylish clinics feature a contemporary aesthetic that appeals to both pets and their humans. We are equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic, surgical, and lab equipment to ensure the highest standard of care. Each site has 3 consult rooms, including a dedicated feline consult. The open-plan prep feeds an imaging suite, a dental suite and a sterile surgical theatre. Each clinic has a team room.

We are also equipped with:

  • an imaging suite with a 2m Digital Static X-Ray
  • Vetus 50 ultrasound with three probes and VVS Specialist Cardiology hookups
  • The latest Mindray anesthesia machines with ventilators and uMEC 12 monitors
  • iM3 CR7 Dental X-ray machines and iM3 dental machines
  • Endo/Laparoscopy Kit and rigid scopes
  • 10+ in-house lab analysers running 70+ tests
  • HTVista scanners for scanning lumps and bumps

The Team

Each site has three vets and a similar number of nurses. The team is exceptional, as the business has been extremely selective about hiring only the best veterinary professionals in London. Each team member is clinically competent and keen on supporting each other in the workplace.

Must-have experience includes:

  • Extensive anaesthesia and surgical experience
  • Sole charge experience is desirable
  • Able to manage all aspects of a clinic on a day-to-day basis
  • Must be able to lead a team of student and junior nurses
  • Must be able to command the respect of your clinical team

People and Protocols

Candidates should have a passion for educating customers about treatment options and preventative care. You must be keen to use structured clinical protocols. Being personable (i.e. good with people) is, of course, essential to achieve all of the above.

An entrepreneurial nature is a must-have. In practical terms this means:

  • Flexible and comfortable with rapid change
  • Willing to improve the clinic’s operational performance
  • Constructively recognizing, escalating and helping solve clinical problems
  • Not a behind-the-scenes complainer. Not “gossipy”
  • Cheerful and positive attitude
  • Able to work closely with non-vets
  • Keenness to develop relationships with neighbourhood clients

Hours and Rota

Clinic hours: 09:00am – 6:00pm Monday through Sunday
Shift pattern: 5 days x 8 hours
Weekend work: 1 in 3 weekends (Sat and Sun)

Paid Holidays and Leave

  • 5.6 weeks per calendar year, inclusive of public holidays (6.6 weeks after 1 year)
