A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a long-established, family-run veterinary practice in Muswell Hill.
Established in the 1970s, this independent practice has built a strong reputation within the local community and has an exceptionally loyal team, with several members of staff having been with the practice for many years.
The practice is currently undergoing an exciting refurbishment and expansion, creating additional space for the team, new services and further opportunities for clinical development.
The Role
This is a varied first-opinion Veterinary Surgeon position within a busy independent practice, offering the opportunity to manage a broad caseload while developing your own clinical interests.
- Consultations are 15 minutes, giving you the opportunity to build relationships with clients while maintaining a varied and engaging caseload.
- You will be involved across consultations, diagnostics and surgery, with the wider team providing strong nursing and clinical support.
- There is plenty of scope to develop your own clinical interests, and the team is open to supporting further development through CPD and additional training.

The Practice
This is a busy, independent veterinary practice with a genuinely family-run feel.
- The practice has a strong first-opinion caseload and prides itself on providing a personal service to its clients while maintaining high clinical standards.
- With modern diagnostic and surgical equipment already in place, the team is well equipped to manage a varied caseload in-house.
- The practice has a good range of modern equipment, including a latest-generation ultrasound unit, endoscopy equipment, digital and dental X-ray and an in-house laboratory, allowing the team to investigate and manage a broad range of cases internally.

- The team currently consists of 6 Veterinary Surgeons, 6 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 4 receptionists and dedicated management and administrative staff.

Working Pattern
- Full-time permanent position
- 4-day working week
- Approximately 40 hours per week
- 1 in 4 Saturdays
- No OOH or on-call
- Excellent work-life balance
The Individual
- RCVS Registered Veterinary Surgeon
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience
- Confident working within a first-opinion environment
- Comfortable managing a varied clinical caseload
- Keen to develop clinical interests and continue learning
- A positive, collaborative approach
- Someone who values the independence and personal approach of the practice

Location
Based in Muswell Hill, North London, the practice is well placed for candidates commuting from across North London and the surrounding areas, including Highgate, Crouch End, Finchley, Hornsey, Wood Green, Bounds Green and surrounding areas.
