I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
About You
The ideal candidate will be a down-to-earth team player looking to provide the very best veterinary care to our loyal clients. We are passionate about creating a fun and inclusive work environment and want any new team members to have the same ethos. You will be fully supported by a fantastic Nurse team who run their own clinics to keep you free to work up your cases.
About the Role
Our case load is varied from neutering and dentistry to soft tissue surgery and orthopaedics.
- Sick pets, initial vaccination courses, and boosters have 20-minute appointments so there's time to examine your patient and write up any notes.
- Prefer consults? We have flexibility in the team to support a consult vet if medicine and client care is your passion.
- Likewise, if you're more of a theatre vet we can increase theatre time and reduce your time in the consult room.
- We run 20-minute consults and protect your lunch break so you always get to eat and relax.
This is ideally for a full-time position of 40 hours per week, but we know this doesn’t suit everyone so part-time can be considered. We can also be flexible to accommodate a 4 or 5-day week. Weekends are Saturday mornings until 1pm and worked on a 1 in 4 basis and no OOH, Sundays, or Bank holidays giving you a great work-life balance.
