About the Company

An established, family-run independent veterinary practice in South Yorkshire is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join its friendly and highly experienced team.

About the Role

Are you a confident Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon looking for a role where you can develop your clinical and surgical skills with genuine support around you?

Responsibilities

  • 2 hours of dedicated operating time every day
  • Protected 2-hour daily break
  • Join a large, experienced team of 14 Vets and 19 Nurses
  • Support from 4 certificate holders
  • No night emergency duties – these are covered externally
  • High-quality estate car provided for work and personal use
  • Excellent opportunities to develop your surgical skills
  • A supportive, collaborative working environment
  • Clinical facilities
  • All surgery and hospitalised cases are managed from the fully equipped main centre, which includes:
    • 5 operating theatres
    • Advanced ultrasound and endoscopy
    • Dedicated nursing and clinical support
    • A varied and interesting caseload
    • Around 20–30 surgical procedures performed each day
    • In-house hydrotherapy and physiotherapy facilities
    • Modern practice management systems

The Practice

The main centre is supported by 7 consulting-only branches, providing a broad and varied caseload across the local area. All branches are air-conditioned, with excellent nursing support available across the practice.

Hours & Benefits

  • Alternate 4- and 5-day working weeks
  • Average working day of approximately 7.5 hours
  • 6 weeks' annual leave, plus all but one bank holiday
  • £3,000 CPD allowance
  • Professional defence fees covered
  • Weekend duty approximately 1 day in 5 (Saturday or Sunday, 8am–5pm)
  • One bank holiday duty per year
  • Fully furnished accommodation available, if required

Qualifications

The practice is keen to hear from confident Small Animal Vets of all experience levels, particularly those with an interest in surgery and a desire to continue developing their clinical skills.

Pay Range and Compensation Package

Salary: £50,000 – £90,000 DOE
