An exciting opportunity has become available for a Part-Time Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and growing team at Walkden Vets for Pets.
Located in Greater Manchester, our first-opinion small animal practice is currently undergoing an exciting rebrand and entering a new phase of development. We're investing in our people, our facilities, and the future of the practice, making this the perfect time to join us.

The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon looking for a genuinely rewarding part-time role with flexibility, clinical variety, and excellent support.
You'll enjoy a varied first-opinion caseload, allowing you to use both your consulting and surgical skills while building lasting relationships with clients and their pets.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about delivering outstanding patient and client care
- A confident communicator who enjoys building client relationships
- A collaborative team player who supports colleagues
- Keen to continue developing clinically, with support available for further study and certificates
- Enthusiastic about contributing to the continued growth and success of the practice

Our Team
You'll be joining a welcoming and experienced team that genuinely enjoys working together.
Our current team includes:
- Two experienced Veterinary Surgeons
- One currently undertaking a Medicine Certificate
- One holds a Feline Medicine Certificate
- One newly qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse
- One experienced part-time Registered Veterinary Nurse
- One highly experienced Veterinary Care Assistant
- Two fantastic Client Care Advisors
- An experienced Practice Manager who has been with the practice for over 10 years

Clinical Caseload
Our busy first-opinion practice offers an interesting and varied caseload, including:
- Routine consultations
- Preventative healthcare
- Medicine cases
- Dentistry
- Neutering
- Soft tissue surgery
- Diagnostic imaging
- Senior pet healthcare
- Emergency consultations
We're also continuing to invest in our diagnostic capabilities, with dental X-ray being introduced and further ultrasound training planned.
Our Facilities
Our practice is well equipped with:
- Digital X-ray
- Ultrasound
- In-house laboratory including Sedivue and InVue
- Multiparameter monitoring
- Dedicated theatre
- Separate dog and cat wards
- Isolation ward
- Dedicated nurse consultation room
Flexible Working
This is a part-time position, and we're happy to discuss a working pattern that works for you. We understand that everyone has different commitments outside of work, so flexibility and achieving a healthy work-life balance are important to us.
