If you’re a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon, where better to work than the independent practice who won Best Vet UK in their opening year and has kept winning awards ever since?
We are Weeley Veterinary Centre in Essex, CO16 9JT.
What We Can Offer You:
- Sponsorship (if required)
- Free Accommodation (if required) in a lovely two bedroom flat at the seaside within the same building as our Australian vet, Sarah
- A salary of £45,000-70,000 depending on your experience and skill set
- Health Shield
- 6.6 weeks annual leave plus we are happy to grant additional unpaid leave
- Memberships paid (RCVS and VDS cover)
- No out of hours
- £1,000 CPD budget with flexibility for CPD that’s brilliant but more costly (for example, we previously paid for in-house training and now Nadine is a fantastic ultrasonographer)
- The loveliest supportive team you could wish for and a boss who is fully clinical and leads by example. You won’t be working whilst she drinks tea; she’ll be working right alongside you and supporting you in every way she can. Besides she hates tea.
- The very best clients who appreciate what we do. Our awards are due to their reviews so are a testament to how much they love us. Our waiting list means they arrive excited and grateful to have been accepted to our area’s most exclusive practice. It makes being a vet easy as they already trust us to do our best for both them and their pets.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
